I really loved this one and I now get the hype for this book. This was such a fast paced fun read. I really enjoyed Nyra’s character. She is on the run and ends up joining the rebellion and has to hide her true identity from those around her. The real star of this book is the tension between her and Dacre. The banter and overall dynamic with Nyra and Dacre was absolutely addictive. I had high hopes for Dacre after reading about how great of a character he was from so many people and he did not disappoint. I am obsessed

The Veiled Kingdom is not my first Holly Renee book. I’ve noticed that her writing style seems rather chaotic. The story doesn’t seem to know where it’s going. It took about 100 pages until you find out that the characters are all fae. It’s just so mind boggling. The characters were interesting but it was their dynamic that kept me going. It was a love hate dynamic that I was drawn to. The ending was especially brutal. If you are looking for a fast paced romantasy with simple storyline The Veiled Kingdom is for you.
