I don't really know what to say. I feel like nothing happened really in this book, but at the same time I had such a fun time reading it. The vibes were viking for sure. I'm guessing there will be more development in the second one, but this book felt like nothing really happened and it was more for uh.. preparing the next two books? Anywayyy, still a good read and I recommend it if you like it when the vibes are there.

All the best romantasy tropes here - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, who did this to you, etc. It’s allegedly also fae, but that was a single passing sentence as far as I can tell, no other lore attached.
BUT. That one single passing sentence plus Dacre’s instant burning possessiveness over her -that has to be fated mates, right? My deep experience with the genre and the instincts I’ve developed as a result aren’t letting me down, right?
Sexy as hell, and the tension is both of the delicious slow-burning kind and the stressful ‘what happens when her secret inevitably gets revealed’ kind.
