Genre: fantasy romance
Tropes: enemies to lovers, one bed, forced proximity, who did this to you, hidden princess, virgin heroine, possessive alpha male
Spice: 3/5
Dual POV
Objectively, is this a good book? Probably not. But I just ate it up. It was fast paced and had me gripped from the very first page. One of my absolute favorite tropes is when one enemy gets hurt and the other wnwmgy takes care of them and this scene in this book was great. The who did this to you always hits. But the worldbuilding is lacking and I feel like that makes the fantasy aspect fall a bit flat. The romance is very lust and insta-attraction based. We never really get a backstory on any of the main characters or the world. I didnt feel like I was missing important info though, it just felt like that would’ve added morw depth to the story.
I HATED the betrayal at the end. I was really hoping that she would be able to explain herself and he’d understand. But I really dont like how he had sex with her under false pretenses and disclosed that he knew while inside her, it just felt so icky and like she wouldnt have actually consented to having sex if she knew that. There better be a really good grovel in the next one.
