My heart is BURSTING!
HOLY ALIEN BABIES!

Squueeeinggg!
Ahh!

I'm loving Luc's character arc even more and if the next book is not called The Brightest Night, I will literally cry so many rivers the world will be under water.

That cliffhanger has me absolutely screaming and needing book three NOW!!

I honestly didn’t think this series could get any better but it did! This one has a bit more sadness but also more hope. And we get characters from the LUX series! I can’t wait to read the next one.

This book was a lot slower than the first, and I was a little lost in some parts. The plot twists were more confusing than satisfying when revealed. Either way, I still really love the relationship between Luc and Evie, and I am still patiently waiting for October 20th. I always come into a 2nd book expecting it to not be as good as the 1st, so I was not really let down by this book. I just was not super impressed with it. The ending though... I won't spoil it, but boy was I not expecting that.

4.5 stars! Yay! I love how this book feels like old school JLA, if there is such a thing. I really enjoyed reading the Lux series, and it’s been really fun to see Luc’s story unfold in this book and The Darkest Star, and Evie’s character is so interesting! It stinks having to wait a year before the next book is out, but I know it’ll be worth the wait!

I really enjoyed the second book much more then the first. I almost didn't even read this but I decided to give it a chance.

While I liked it overall, it felt long at times.

i totally forgot that this entire series is literally about a GLOBAL-FREAKING-PANDEMIC. Yup, right there in the book jacket it says it's about "a new flu-like fatal virus" except THIS virus includes hot aliens, steamy romance where he'd kill, barter, plead, suffer for her and, of course, some wack paranormal shit. I'm very disappointed about our current situation. Where are OUR hot aliens with cool purple eyes that explode lamps when we're making out?? Someone find me one please. I will forever be indebted to you.

The Burning Shadow takes place where the first book in the Origin series (which is a spin-off of the Lux book series), The Darkest Star finished - where Luc and Evie's mum are trying to make peace with each other following the massive smack down. I loved getting back into this world; with aliens, hybrids and their little offspring with amethyst eyes, the Origins. There’s the usual snarkiness you’d expect from a Lux/Origin series book (and JLA does this so well), and there’s some awesome choice of T-shirt choices by Luc - I think that he needs his own retail line really. I really loved that Daemon reruns to the series and he’s his usual self. A great return to the series and extension to the Lux/Origin universe. And I’ve just heard that there’s 3 more books coming in this series - I can’t wait!!! Loved it!
