Treasure Island is a fast-paced and exciting adventure filled with memorable characters and vivid storytelling. Stevenson’s writing is sharp and engaging, making it a surprisingly quick and enjoyable read.
The plot moves smoothly, and figures like Long John Silver bring depth and intrigue. Frustrating it took me so long to read but I'm glad I finally did.

I’ve always loved pirates—their wild adventures, mysterious maps, and life out at sea. Stories about seafarers have always fascinated me, and Treasure Island was one of the first pirate books I’ve been wanting to dive into for the longest time. There’s just something so exciting about getting to know these rogue characters and their dangerous, freedom-filled lives.
That said, I’ll be honest—the writing was a bit tough for me to fully grasp at times. The old-fashioned language made some parts a little tricky to follow. But even with that, the story still pulled me in. It really felt like I was aboard the Hispaniola, navigating betrayal, treasure hunts, and all the twists along the way.
All in all, it was quite an adventure. A classic, for sure—and definitely worth checking out if you’re into something like this.

Swashbuckling. Swift. Thoroughly deserving of its long life and distinction as a classic of Western fiction.

About to tackle some thick ‘uns, so wanted to knock out a little adventure ditty. How fun! If I were a young boy in 1888, this would’ve knocked my knickers clean off.
