About to tackle some thick ‘uns, so wanted to knock out a little adventure ditty. How fun! If I were a young boy in 1888, this would’ve knocked my knickers clean off.
This book takes a while to get on its way. The first third or so is enjoyable and mysterious, but the adventure picks up once the crew set sail. Really enjoyed this!

What I knew going in: This is a classic about pirates and treasure.
This was a very hard read for me due to "pirate speak." I also was like how many people really only have one leg and talk like a pirate...how stupid are you people? Written in 1883, this is filled with your basic white Christian Savior vibe but not so overwhelming that it makes it unreadable. This would have been a good adventure novel for its time but really is a forgettable read in modern times.
