No denying this book is quintessential piratey but it’s the least favorite of the trio of pirate books i recently read. So much negotiating and double crossing, I kind of lost the plot a little. I’m here for the swashbuckling, etc. Also, there’s a lot more nuance to Long John Silver than I remember, he’s not all bad in this story!

A wonderful story I'm glad to have revisited for the first time since I was very young. Jim Hawkins may not be the most fascinating protagonist but Long John Silver is rightfully iconic.

I recently read the original book and found this dramatized adaptation and thought it would be fun to give it a listen. 

It's funny I was hoping that listening to this version would clarify somethings I had trouble understanding in the original book, which it did, but also I think if I hadn't read the original I'd not have been able to follow this one at all. 

The sound effects and full cast made this a really fun and immersive read, but as others have mentioned at times it gets really difficult to tell characters apart.

Over all a fun read, but definitely not a replacement for the original!
