My first exposure to YA lit was "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging", and it changed the course of my life. And no, I'm not overstating that. When I started library school, my goal was to become a catalog librarian-no public contact, work in a cubby with books as company all day. The last thing I wanted to do was work with any people, let alone teenagers!
But Georgia's trials and tribulations broke something open in me-something I thought was irretrievably gone-the ability to laugh out loud-really, really laugh-snort things out your nose laugh-and in public, no less! And so, I began devouring ya lit, encouraging my daughter to have her friends over, and just observing them interacting and having fun. And I learned a lot. Mostly that I didn't want to sit in a stuffy little cubby in a moldy back room in an academic library somewhere.
Then, Georgia's story came to an end, and I mourned the passing of an era. But, behold, here's Tallulah Casey come to the rescue! She's definitely not Georgia and the Ace Gang, but that's not what we want--a retread of awesome isn't awesome anymore. Tallulah has her own brand of dizzy, wacky awesome to be discovered, and it's coming into full bloom in this third installment. Dother Hall is still in dire financial straits, and Tallulah is hated by the Bottomly sisters and Dr. Lightowler even more (if that's possible!). The owlets have flown the nest, Honey is off in Hollywood, and things are looking a bit glum for the Tree Sisters.
If you're a fan of Georgia, don't miss her Irish cousin Tallulah! Much fun to be had!

This third book in the Tallulah Casey series is, like the two that came before it, simply hilarious. There's potting-shed incidents, a spunky and lovable heroine and group of supporting characters, spontaneous Irish dancing, a heavy metal band that replaces key words in James Bond sings with "pies", creative interpretations of The Taming of the Shrew, extensive British slang, and dogs in costumes...Probably not everyone finds Louise Rennison's books laugh-out-loud funny but those who do, like me, find themselves laughing so loudly that the people around them give them odd looks. Recommended for those looking for the perfect quick read.
Genre: the theater, BOYS BOYS BOYS, love triangles galore
Summary: In the third installment of the Misadventures of Talullah Casey, Lullah is back at school with her Tree Sisters. Still boy crazy, still trying to impress the teachers and prove that she is more than what meets the eyes.
Response: Talullah is straight up nuts, but funny, of course. I love her weird group of friends. The whole love triangle-that-is-not-a-triangle is getting a little dull, but it ends pretty good. I wish I knew more about why one of the teachers doesn't like Lullah, but since it doesn't impact her too much she doesn't dwell on it very much. My only complaint about this series, like the Georgia Nicholson one is that there is not a whole lot of character growth from one novel to the next. Yes, the dialogue is funny, the scenarios the characters find themselves in are often hilarious, and Lullah's running inner commentary is gold, but I don't know if she will ever grow up, you know?

Loved the ending and who she ended up with. A nice end to the series!
Very cute - not as laugh out loud funny as Georgia or maybe it's too much like Georgia (would love to see Georgia go through adulthood) but still cute.
Tallulah has blown the socks out of me...again.
The only thing that made me cry was her decision. Garyboy or You know Who? Well, Cain-as bad as he may sound-has stolen my heart. And I want him to end up with Lullah.
A girl can dream, right?

This one was definitely my favourite of the series, Tallulah really became her own character instead of being an imitation of Georgia Nicolson. The side characters were so random but it fit really well and Louise Rennison is hilarious as always.
