This book details how feminism has long been a single issue campaign that largely excludes women and gender diverse people with other oppressed identities including people of colour, queer, disabled and poor people. More recently feminism has been branded as a corporate, consumerism and highly individualistic endeavour. The author calls for feminists to consider how to dismantle oppressive systems, rather than simply celebrating women CEOs as though that is a win for all women. I perhaps didn't find the alternatives or calls to action as concrete or detailed as they could have been - there was a lot of criticism of capitalism but little discussion of anti-capitalist alternatives that readers could inform themselves on and how to support leftist actions in day to day life.

Really enjoy the authors parallel of history and today. It is filled with research and I learned a lot.

Koa Beck leaves no stone unturned in this book where she dissects the myriad ways that white feminism harms marginalized groups. She addresses issues like the epidemic of missing and murdered Native and Indigenous women and girls, the toxicity of brands using performative activism, the white female CEOs who perpetuate abusive work environments, and so much more.
I'm someone who used to believe that the only issues that "counted" as feminist issues were those that were solely gendered (equal pay, access to birth control, etc.), and this author goes above and beyond to demonstrate why intersectional feminism is so crucial in helping the collective as opposed to the individual. I recognized several instances where I have been making excuses for rhetoric that is self-serving, and this book gives many concrete examples of ways to be a more inclusive and compassionate feminist.
