Good continuation of the Longmire series. This one features fundamentalist, polygamist Mormons.

The books are so different from the TV series. Longmire in the books is still serious but he's also quite humorous. I miss this dialogue and banter in the series. In this episode Longmire deals with some bizarre and hilarious encounters with runaways, polygamists, and crazy folks. But they mask a deadly conspiracy involving narcoficantes, CIA guys, and crackpots which soon starts producing bodies on both sides. There's a pretty wild ending with some startling revelations in the personal area and as always Henry is Walt's rock.

This one was super hit and miss for me. There were several things that just felt a bit ehhh especially at the beginning. But the end really picked up for me and the emotions were really good. And we had some serious stakes and things happening.

My friend, Craig gives us another wonderful book.

How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is
To have a thankless child"

Boy howdy. Craig Johnson is a fantastic author. Walt Longmire, Henry Standing Bear and Victoria Moretti are three wonderful literary characters. I know it is a good book when my wife notices me smiling when reading a book. The action and caring and humor create a wonderful integrated novel. Do yourself a favor and read this series.

This is another great installment in the Walt Longmire series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found the plot involving an extreme religious group to be intriguing and well thought out. I enjoyed the developments in the relationship between Vic and Walt. Unlike other reviewers here, I enjoy the relationship between Vic and Walt.

I've enjoyed the series that A&E has created, but I found that I had to separate that series from the characters created by Craig Johnson. Walt is not nearly as clever and witty on the tv show, Vic is not pretty enough nor crass enough and while I like Lou Diamond Phillips, he is absolutely NOT Henry Standing Bear.

All that said, I'm a little annoyed at the cliff hanger with the ending of this book because 1 year is just too long to have to wait to find out what happens.
