Loved it

Kept me glued to it from beginning to end. The ending was totally unexpected and the epilogue has me ready for the next book.

I don't have the spoons to write a thorough review for this rn but it was a fun read. I liked the murder mystery part with the Guardians and the Followers. I really wish there was less emphasis on the forbidden love and more on Mark's return home and what he went through in Faery. Also, I just really love the fact that Emma Carstairs doesn't like coffee. Finally, a Cassie Clare character who doesn't like it.

Okay so Cassandra Clare could write anything at all to do with shadowhunters and I would fall in love immediately. You know what was so fantastic about this book?
So, I haven’t touched a shadowhunter-related book since 2014. I was a bit nervous about picking this one up with my memory of the others being so vague, but I gave it a go, and was so very pleased that I did!
So what’s so good about this book? Well it pulls you back into the magical world as if you read all the others yesterday. It is everything you want in a young adult book. It’s funny, clever, and absolutely full of surprises. It made me gasp out loud multiple times. The way Clare builds her scenarios and beautifully describes colour and light and her gorgeous characters is amazing.
This world will forever be one of my favourites. And Cassandra Clare will probably be one of my favourite authors always. She is insanely clever.

Onto Lord of Shadows!

I had such high hopes for Lady Midnight that I couldn’t help but to feel a bit disappointed. I love how different the characters are and the ways that they deal with their problems, but I found Emma to be quite annoying sometimes. My biggest issue with this book is definitely the main couple, as their “romantic” love felt forced and they were fine with just the friend/family relationship. Honestly, my favorite part was reading about the characters from other books, especially Tessa and Magnus. I still definitely think Lady Midnight is worth the read though.

Deeply connected to Mark and Tiberius Blackthorn.
