Not quite as strong as some of the others but Willa is a little less annoying and the book - as they seem to - kept getting better and better. Loved the Cyrus development. As always, can't wait for the next book to get here, thankfully these come in fast. Full review to come.

Read it about the time it came out, forgot to mark it somehow. I remember I really liked it but I expected more to happen in this book. Either way, I'm very excited for the next one!

I love this series! This book has a bit more steaminess to it. Cyrus is confusing and I can’t decide if I like him, Emmy comes into her own, Willa continues to grow and make me laugh, and the boys are still the same! The ending had me laughing and I am so anxious to read the ending!!!

Amazing I adore this series can't wait for the last book!

This fourth book of the series was really good. We got to dive deeper (quite literally if you know what I mean) into Willa's relationship with the Abcurses. A lot of new elements and information came to light however many questions remain.
SpoilerI do regret not having more drama with the boy's assigned sols, I thought it was an interesting idea that was not really exploited as much as I would have liked. The whole part of the new academy was a bit rushed.

This book was also less fun than the previous ones; it had less hilarious scenes but was still very light-toned.

Audio book review.

Not a great story plot-wise, but at this point I don't even care. I'm just reading it for more character progression. Our Abcurse boys are sent to a separate school for even more elite Souls, this time to teach in one-on-one instruction the strongest of the gifted. Willa tags along because she must, but often butts heads with those the boys are supposed to be training. They really don't take their jobs seriously, and this kinda annoys me. But I also like how the six of them are getting closer and forming a tighter group.

Does the rest of the school just understand at this point that the Abcurses are gods? That was never really spelled out, but no one seems surprised by their better-than-good skills. In previous books it was supposed to be kept secret that the Abcurses were gods in exile. In this story, Willa is coming to terms with having her own abilities, and is slowly figuring out what she can actually do, although she still messes it up more often than not. She's in the crosshairs of the chaos god who doesn't want a rival power showing him up, as well as the vindictive first power who created all gods after him, Stavidi. Our Zeus-like character has questionable motives and becomes a true antagonist in this story. We also meet the god of love, who is a bubbly sort of clueless woman with potentially vicious grudge-holding abilities. Plenty more intimate scenes, including another threesome scene. This author really likes flirting with that incest line.

Probably my favorite lines in the whole book are between Willa and one of the skilled students in training. Willa says in reference to penises, "We all have them." One of the stuck-up girls goes "You have a penis?" and Willa points to her Abcurses and goes, "Well, I have theirs, so that's five." No laughter, no joking, every one of the six of them just understands and accepts it as truth. There are also beautiful moments where Willa is curled up with the five of them, lying on someone's lap with one on each side and two at her feet. They all dote on her, and it's not coerced or competitive in any way. Feels genuine. I read in the comments someone referred to the five brothers as Willa's harem, and I totally agree. Not everyone is going to like this sort of setup, but I'm totally trash for it. Love it!

Also, a standout pair in this book is Willa's sister and closest friend, Emmy, and the neutral god, Cyrus. She won't put up with any of his shit, but he's a super powerful arrogant god with a drinking problem. They are adorable, and I'm glad they get their own book.

Would ABSOLUTELY recommend this series to anyone. Like I said, story in this book is not great, but the characters are driving the series at this point, so I don't even care. PLEASE tell me books 4.5 and 5 will be finished in audio soon!!
