There are two type of series : the series where something different happens each book, a different story, all going towards the bigger picture and depending on how well written the series is, you read the last book and go “all of that meant that!?” in awe. There is the type of series where it’s one picture, very blurry at the beginning, you don’t know what to look for, where to look, and each book gives you a better focus, until the end where you see everything clearly and you know exactly how you got there.
This is the second type, and it’s really well done. I still have one book to go, but I know I’m going to love it cause everything is just so greatly thought out. At first, you think Willa is a normal, worse than average dweller. Then, with the Abcurses, you start to understand there something more going on. Then, she not really a sol but more than a dweller. Then, her soul didn’t die, it split under Rau’s curse and is now with each of the Abcurses. And then she’s a potential Choas Beta, so she’s a sol. But then she dies and lives, without Stativiti making her a God so she isn’t a god. And then she comes back from the imprisonment cave, which is impossible. Also now she has healing power and can bring people back from the dead??? And all of this brings of to the next book, which is going to unravel everything and explain everything
The missing piece.
I’m really interested in the whole Jakan story, and the soul of the god children. I really think Willa is related to Stativiti in a way and she’s going to take his place as the creation god but there’s going to be much more than that, I can tell.
I love the way the six way relationship is evolving, it all happens quite naturally and I really like that. I loved the ending of this book with Will finally having been with all five of them and the bond being complete, the balance restored. I’m starting the next book right away!!

Once again Willa’s internal monologue is hilarious, there’s just no off switch for it. Which is just unfortunate for the Abcurses brothers, who get to hear most of it.
I love the way that Adeline quickly accepts Willa to the family upon their first introduction, and even Abil seems to end up with a soft spot for her.
Insults and sparks are flying for Dweller Emmy and the Neutral God Cyrus (will they or won’t they).
If you loved the other books in the series, you will certainly love Strength.
When Staviti calls a gathering of all of the gods, things are about to be shaken up. He declares that all Beta Gods and the strongest sol in each of the power groups, will be sent to a fourth Academy called Champions Peak. Where, for a life-cycle the Beta Gods will be teaching and training the sols. At the end of the life-cycle the sols will be sacrificed at the ascension ceremony hosted by Staviti, which will include a twist for the Beta Gods.

I feel like this is my favourite book so far in the series. I love the introduction of willa’s mom! I also love seeing the conflict between Emmy and Cyrus.

Will is the best. I love these books so much, they invoke such a emotion during the read. I've laughed out loud, been angry, been sad. It's such a whirlwind experience!

In the beginning, when I read Trickery, I was so excited about this new and intriguing series, however, as I've progressed the series has been getting kind of meh for me. I have decided to stick with it until the end because I want to know how this all ends. In book four of the Curse of the Gods series, we stumble into the continued adventures of Willa and her five gods. We mostly get the same things we have gotten in the past few books, but we also have interesting updates with Emmy and Staviti while also getting introductions to new gods such as Pica and Adeline. We also have some continued romance, however, not the type of romance I am used to so it is a brand new experience for me! Hopefully, the fifth book will tie up all loose ends and leave me feeling content rather than angry.
