Completely fell for these two, they had a meet-cute but it wasn’t anything like you’re used to. I freaking loved the fact that both these characters go with the flow. It’s almost an instant friendship their dynamic really meshes and it leaves room to grow.
What I personally liked was they both work in artistic fields they get each other in ways other people don’t. They learn from each other, teaching and growing and it’s ok if mistakes happen because they communicate and learn from it. Really an interesting story of finding love in the most unusual of situations. You don’t really see what you have until it kind of slaps you in the face. I loved the 80’s spin with the movies and the music and tropes it works in a sweet way.
I couldn’t stop listening; these two narrators work so well they brought the story to life with perfect comedic timing.
Fun and diverting, a bit spicy, book about two people who come together under very unusual circumstances. Only main issue is the MMC’s focus switching so quickly from old girlfriend to new girlfriend was a bit alarming and kind of a red flag. As was the sudden invitation to a road trip. And basically everything about him. I did really appreciate his nerdy sensibilities but wish he’d been even more stereotypically nerdy.
Unzipped Unzipped, Unzipped is a total must read if you a 80's baby and remember all of the amazing movies. Unzipped will take you back in time to mixed tapes and huge boom boxes. Thank you so much Lauren to step back in time.
Kyler AKA Tom is looking to win back his college sweetheart by breaking out the boombox and blasting Unzipped. However, he didn't plan on getting Finley instead. Little does Kyler aka Tom know that this mistake could turn out to be the best thing to every happen to him.
This was a rare gem. It’s a meet-cute that doesn’t involve a woman falling down or making a fool of herself. It’s funny, swoon-y, and adorable from start to finish. I very rarely give five stars, but this one earned all five with the solid, unique storyline and excellent writing. It’s lighthearted and fun but the chemistry is off the charts. I loved it! Highly recommend.
