This is insanely funny. Almost all the poems are about sex, booze, and vast fuck-ups. I never knew those good poems can be this easy to form, however, Bukowski has it saying every time that "Stop trying, just do it." But somehow he manages to attract sympathy in his honestly down to earth lines and most of them are straight out of his life experiences and of others.

może nie wyłapałam jakiegoś głębokiego przekazu tych poematów, ale naprawdę musiałam zebrać w sobie wszystkie siły żeby przebrnąć do końca tej książki

"...there is always one woman to save you from another and as that woman saves you she makes ready to destroy"

Charles Bukowski writes about vomit, hangovers, prostitutes and intercourse, bowel movements and horse racing, which might seem distasteful and dull but his ability to make ordinary people interesting and his critical views on human relationships will always amaze me. "The Crunch" and "My Old Man" are hands down the most compelling poems of the bunch.

don’t think poetry is for mee

i’m a bukowski hater officially. he never had what sylvia had when she was 19. i love media about insane people going down a path of self destruction they don’t care to get off of (taxi driver and fight club are my favourite movies?) i love talks about cigarettes and death and all that. but this guy just fucking suckssssssssssssssss. i think the writing is uninteresting and doesn’t offer anything

is he gay?
