In spite of the claim, this book doesn't "unleash" anything concrete about consciousness. It only points to the inadequacy of modern Western medicine and its criminal negligence and malevolent demonisation of all forms of complementary medicine including reputed Eastern systems like Ayurveda.
Dr. Lipton suggests a primarily ENERGY-centric view of human body than a gene-centric one, and establishes his arguments well. One can say without doubt that he has succeeded in his efforts in pioneering New Biology, much to the dismay of the Evil Pharma. His observation that the positive effects of most medicines are placebo is in itself very revealing.

An interesting look at epigenetics and the influence of the environment upon gene expression. Occasionally strayed too far from the science.
This book is a game changer. Genes are not as controlling as we are led to believe. The cell membrane is the brain of the cell and it receives information from the environment. Our environment shapes our genes. This book will change the way you see life. This is a must READ.
I wish I had read this earlier in my life, and especially when my kids were babies. Full disclosure: this short "book" is a lot of information, and most of it would normally be over my head. However, the author has a way of making complex ideas/facts easy to understand. I kept pausing to tell my partner different things, which (for me) is always a sign of a good book. I listened to the audiobook, and it felt much more like a "TED Talk" than an actual book. The hardest part of this book will be applying it to myself, but I hope to be able to implement some of the information/ideas into the way I talk to (and about) my kiddos.

A good antidote to the pervasive message that we are solely our genes. Would have liked a little more both/and thinking in that modern medicine can be helpful too.
I overall enjoyed the book a great deal! I think it's interesting how many scientists remain rigid in their beliefs but each to their own.
One little heads up, if you want to read this for how to change your beliefs, this isn't that book. This is just a scientific view of why belief can change so much of our lives.
Grab a book on energy psychology for actual practices. I have to admit I thought he'd go more into psych-k when I stayed this and was sadly disappointed. But it's still very interesting and a good companion for Dr. Joe Dispenza's work!
