Another BRILLIANT book in the Death Cast series! So many mysterious moments and twists that kept me reading further. I loved all of the interconnected moments with characters from the first two books, and I can’t wait to read what comes next for Paz and Alano!

unfortunatly this book reads like a first draft of a fanfiction that noone bothered to edit and contains a lot of serious topics that are at times described in very triggering ways or in ways that feel like bad representation
maybe it‘s a very personal story or a way to reflect for the author, but to me some parts seem almost harmful

it was catchy enough for me to want to finish reading it though and it‘s fun to find all the little hints and references to other characters and events from the series
i‘m curious to see what the next book will be, especially with
that cliffhanger at the end

I enjoyed this book, would I recommend it? no.

I do get it, we all had an unhealthy codependent friendship/relationship at the age of 19 but I feel like to put it in a young adult book, to the graphic extent it is, with no actual consequences shown, romanticises this and that should not be promoted AT ALL!

I do love this series and the regular easter eggs/call backs to the other books and I would be willing to read more in the series but this one… it just is a bit too graphic.

🤳🏼 The Survivor Wants to D!e at the End: The Third Book in the Death-Cast series 💀

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

💀 "I deserve to have a life of my own before telling people how to live theirs before they d!e."

The Death-Cast series is sure to bring the heavy feelings, the emotions, the sprinkles of hope and resilience, and the love. Survivor was no exception.

💀 "Death-Cast saves Deckers, but it can also ruin survivors."

With No One Knows Who D!es at the End (the next book) being a continuation of this book, this one felt like a lot of setting up for that story. Some of it probably could have been cut to shorten it, but knowing how this series works I have a feeling every moment has it's reason.

💀 "Everyone has a dream, even those of us who've given up on them."

I loved the call backs and connections to the first two books, some which would have gone over my head if I hadn't JUST reread the first two. I'm excited for the next book in the series.

💀"I hate that I have to work so hard to love myself."

This book feels heavier than the first two, so make sure to check the content warnings. Su!cidal ideation is a very big theme. There are some relatable quotes to depression that hit home for me.

💀"If I'm so young, why does life feel so long?"

What this series does best: twist and turns that leave you gaping, deep connections between characters you didn't see coming, makes you question a lot, gives you hope and love to cling to even when everything seems hopeless

💀 "Don't worry about your secrets, they'll d!e with me." "I'd rather my secrets live with you. Your secrets can live with me too."

Add this series to your pride reads this month, but again, check the trigger warnings. 🏳️‍🌈
