This book was so much better than I expected it to be. I knew it would be good because the previous books in the series have been but there were quite a few things that happened in this book that I didn't expect.
Obviously, I can't tell what those things are because of spoilers but I will say that after the way that Pure ended, I was a bit hesitent regarding some things. I just didn't want to deal with the love triangle that was very obvious by what happened in Pure. I never like love triangles. But this was so different. It wasn't about which guy she liked and who she'd chose at all. This was about Alex trying to find out who she was and what she wanted. It was her trying to seperate what she wanted and believed to what the bond between her and Seth was making her want.
The ending was also quite shocking. I didn't expect it to be like that. This book is by far my favourite of the series and I'm already a quarter of the way through Apollyon.

Wow, how could the author leave me hanging with that ending. Thank the gods that I didn't read this when it first came out or I'd be supernova-ish right now.

Explíquenme ese final, explíquenme como toda la historia se volvió más interesante!!
Wow, he de decir que mi amor por Seth se fue a la alcantarilla y que ahora me gusta mucho Aiden, ejem, si ya sé que decir eso después de todo lo que dije de él no me hace una buena persona pero si es.
Alex, ¿qué digo de ella? Es imposible odiarla a pesar de sus tontas ideas, y aunque he querido que haga algo para que le de fin a todo esto (no diré que es porque es spoiler), me es inevitable no sentir pena por ella.
Quiero decir tantas cosas, como que ese final no me lo esperaba y aunque no ha habido nada que me dejase con la boca abierta, me lo he disfrutado un montón. La pluma de la autora es muy buena y esta no es la primera saga que he leído de ella.

Once again Jennifer L. Armentrout has blown my expectations for a book out of the water. She has spun yet another epic-ly, amazing story.
I was taken on a whirlwind of a ride with Deity that has left me reeling and craving more.
Deity is one of those great books that when you finish it, you’re life just holds no meaning afterwards, not until you have the next book in your hands. And I don't know what I'm going to do until I have Apollyon in my hands, I might not make it.
This third installment of the Covenant series is by far the best one in the series, and dear gods, was it a ride I never wanted to end.
History is on repeat again, and this time things are different. With Alex’s eighteenth birthday approaching things are just getting more and more intense for her and everyone around her.
With so much at stake and not just for Alex, but for Aiden as well, they can only hope things won’t end in disaster. But as Alex’s birthday draws closer every day, new enemies appear, gods make appearances, and even fate seem to be coming out to witness what will become of Alex. The next Apollyon.
With Alex stuck in situations she's never dreamed of, with hope and love seeming to be out of her grasps, and with her pushed back into a corner, can Alex stop history and carve her own path?

This book is one shocking twist and turn from the first page to the very last sentence. I was captured and enthralled by it. Deity took my breath away.
It starts shortly where Pure left off, and it’s captivating just from that very first page. Alex has returned to Deity Island with Seth after the events that took placed at the Catskill. And those events still haunt Alex’s mind, and her worry for Aiden is ever present. With so much that has happen Alex is feeling the effects and the worry is weighing down on her.
But Alex isn’t one to give up, she never has been, she’s a fighter. That is something I have always loved about her. Alex’s spunk and snarky attitude do make an appearance in Deity, but you can tell she has grown a lot from the previous books. She is a more mature person now, and I can definitely see that. She is now actually thinking her actions through, she stays calmer in situations and she doesn't have that knee-jerk reaction as much. I am very proud to see how much growth she has shown, though her cocky and witty humor is still present.
And, dear gods, Aiden, that boy. I cannot put into words how much I love that boy. I have sighed his name so much through this book. He makes my heart do funny things. We left him when he saved Alex in Pure, and well, if word ever got out what he did it would mean death for not only Alex but him, also. But in his actions you can see just how far Aiden will go for Alex. To me, he truly sees and understands Alex. In Deity, this boy has melted my heart, made me swoon so hard, and wished I could trade places with Alex at times. We do get to see a much different side of him in Deity and I really enjoyed it. To say I’m even a bigger fan of Aiden would be a total understatement.
I am a big Team Aiden and Alex, so this book was my kind of book. There was so much for them, and I am honestly so happy to see them get there peace in this book, even if it was a bit short lived. And wow, the moments they have in this book just made my toes curly, my heart speed up and I melted me into a warm gooey mess! I feel they both have grown, and they have grown together, too. You can really see and feel it in Deity. I loved every Alex and Aiden moment so much.
Now, what can I say about Seth, for one, (don’t get mad) I've never liked his character that much. Yeah, he has that nice boyish kind of charm, but from the first moment he appeared I felt something off with is character. Deity definitely proved my suspensions, too. In Deity he is back to his old ways and then some. We also get to see different sides of him, even though I can see he does have a kind side, he rarely shows it and I feel he is slowly loosing that kindness.
In Deity old characters are back along with some very interesting new ones. Leon, that amazing Sentinel is back. And he is better than ever. I have always loved Leon and he definitely surprised me in this book. Deacon also makes more appearances, and I just love that kid to death. He’s humor, love for his brother and Alex make me just want to hug him. Yes, we get to see some old favorite characters, but in Deity so many new faces appear, and by god,s are they are awesomesauce!
The Gods literally make an appearance in Deity, and well, some are friggin’ awesome. Some are there to help Alex and some aren’t. But each one Jennifer made brilliantly. She gave them such an incredible modern twist that I felt it went along with the story, didn't change the feel of the book or make the story unbelievable. Some characters really surprised me, some I couldn't believe made an appearance, and some just made me sad, but all in all Jennifer did an amazing job with them. I could see growth in them all and even fell more in love with some.
Jennifer did a lot of amazing things in this book. From the well-paced plot, moments of ‘oh shit’ to making my heart swoon and melt, to such twist that left me reeling, this book was pure awesomesacue. So much happened in Deity I still am trying to get my brain to absorb it all. She has a way with words, she can have me laughing out loud, crying, swooning and yelling out from just one book. Jennifer’s witty and humorous writing style will pull you in and never let you go. She also knows how to mess with your emotions. I was all over the place with this book, and days later, still am! And lets not forget how she ending Deity, that was just torture, pure mean torture...
Deity does not disappoint at all. It is by far the best book in the series and an emotional roller coaster at that. From the intense situations, shocking twist and heart melting moments, Jen has done it again. She has created a book that I have just fallen madly in love with, that I will always keep close to my heart and reread a thousand times over.
