Loved this story!

I really enjoyed this story! I loved watching them each realize they had feelings for each other and watching their relationship change.

A little young for my liking but I started it and wanted to see where the series goes. A quick read and I did love the main live interest.

3.75.
It’s cute. Very quick read. Very childish behaviors but I mean they’re teenagers. I kept forgetting that part, lol.
I’ll probably finish the story because I did really like the characters minus Kate.

This is obviously a early in her career which is obvious in the writing but it is easy to see that Catharina is a natural and I have no doubt with a couple more books under her she will flourish. Her real talent is the way she brings her characters to life.

I typically don't enjoy high school romances anymore but this one was still so interesting to me and I am very interested in seeing how this story plays out.

the slow burn is good but i simply can’t get over the fact that they assume shit about each other and it just creates miscommunication!!! just be honest!!!

also her dad’s a fuckwad

and his sister is wack and a hypocrite and i hope she gets what’s coming to her

Emilia lives with her father who basically ignores her as he works all the time. He asked the neighbor to watch her when they moved in next door. She quickly became best fiends with Kate. Emilia became very close to Kate’s family and Kate’s mom became a pseudo mom for Emilia and will do anything not to make her mad.
Carter who is Kate’s brother and is two years older than the girls. He protects Emilia just like he does Kate. She hates it as he is always scaring off any guy who might be interested in her. This makes them argue all the time and then eventually they start doing do pranks to each other. One night they ended up kissing and that changed their entire relationship. He wants more and she doesn’t want to hurt Kate or disappoint their mom and she keeps turning him.
This is book one and I couldn’t put it down. Cat writes her books to make me cry. Ok probably not but her books do that to me all the time. I feel like my heart is ripped from my chest, get stomped all over and then puts it back in place. I can’t wait for the next book.

This is book 1 of 3. Emelia and Carter have known each other forever; she is his sister's best friend. Slowly, things change between them. Desperate to keep her friendship with Kate and respect the bond with Helen (Carter & Kate's mom), Emelia breaks things off. But it's not as easy as either of them would like.
