P. A. Motteux translation (I know it's one of the worst ones apparently but I'll read another version another time)
Absolutely hilarious. I'm still reading it at the moment as it's incredibly dense and full of footnotes which explain references to contemporaneous literature and folklore, but I'm just completely enveloped in La Mancha and the glossed up delusional world Cervantes creates.

1.5. I’m DNFing this. I’ve been forcing myself to read this because it’s one of those novels you’re supposed to read before you die, right? But life is too short to be reading a 1000 page novel, especially when you’ve been reading it for almost a month and are only half way.

Madre mía he tardado 5 meses en leerme este libro. En fin las segundas partes nunca fueron buenas. Pero la primera muy chuli 4⭐️, a la segunda parte le doy 3 ⭐️. Este libro es la prueba andante de que no se ha de juzgar un libro que no se ha leído.
