I'm loving this whole series. We got more world-building, lore, and character development in this book. I'm excited to see the relationship between Callan and Tava develop. I'm just invested in this world and these characters.

There are a couple things about these books so far that I haven't loved. I'm not the biggest fan of Scarlett and Sorin's relationship. There just seems to be a lot of miscommunication and arguing and a lot of Sorin talking Scarlett down. Their relationship is actually kind of annoying to me. Also, the banter amongst the fire court and Scarlett can be a bit cheesy, repetitive and obnoxious. But I do like most of the characters and the over-arching plot.

So it's not a perfect series. But I am still loving it as a whole!
