this was genuinely heartbreaking, but reassuring in a way with how much it really hit home. ive been thinking that i don’t really want children and after reading this book i only feel more so that way.

Notes:
- Such an important book! I had no idea about how predominant this culture is in South Korean still to this day and the footnotes were super informative and shocking.
- Very concise and clear read
, and the ending was absolutely genius—reverting everything back in this cyclical manner via the male psychologist's view
.
- Rating this book for my overall enjoyment and memory of reading it and not all that critically here. Again, a very important and worthy book.

I found the subject of the book very interesting and will be looking further into sexism in Korea.
I liked following Jiyoung's life and what  she experienced.

The book was kind of dry and seemed to be just facts about gender discrimination in South Korea. I don't think it was a good fit for my first book of Asian author.
Despite this, I guess each man has to read it to understand what women have to deal with in this world, even in 21st century
