narration was not good. narrator  and voice same for male and female characters, confusing and not well done.

This kind of cover always draws me in the thought of an exotic destination and all those bright colours. It looked like the perfect summer read.

The story follows newly single Suzie, a french teacher who goes on holiday to Mallorca with her cousins to get over her heartbreak, after becomming new single when she find sout her partner has been cheating on her. The last thing she is looking for is romance but she meet Carlos and the pair end up having a wonderful connection after a steamy one night stand. And sadly what happens in Mallorca, does not stay in Mallorca....as fast forward a few weeks and Charlie turns up at the school she works in and introduces himself as the new Spanish teacher. And both have to admit the little white lies they have told each other.

This is a really funny, easy reading book. The pair are forced together via the staff room and a school trip and their connection resurfaces. I found my self laughing aloud, cringing and generally thinking 'OMG' the whole time I was reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for sending me this ARC!

Hot To Go was a lighthearted, easy-to-read romance book. I enjoyed the POV switch between Suzie and Charlie; it was good to get both of their perspectives. I did feel like something was missing though - I wish that Suzie and Charlie had more communication once they recognised each other (text chains or emails or something) so they could rebuild the chemistry slowly instead of it dissolving to nothing then picking back up again the moment they left the UK. The 3rd act 'break-up' felt a bit rushed, and there should have been more drama with Paul to make Charlie's decision to leave feel more realistic.

The cousins were my favourite characters, and I wish we had more of them as they provided great comic relief. I also loved the neighbour!

Overall, a fun read, but not my favourite. 3.5 stars.

Fun holiday romcom in a book yes please.
This was my first time reading a book by Kristen and I enjoyed the banter and comedy of this book and experienced multiple laugh out loud moments. It certainly lived up to its romcom name.
The cousins were an absolute troop and love the dynamic between them all. I also really enjoyed the siblings relationship with each other and how much Charlie and Max cared for each other - lets normalize more healthy male relationships!
A holiday romance that follows you home is always entertaining. At times I did struggle a bit with the flow/chemistry of the characters when they were back home but I know that is part of the story. At times things were a bit cringy and awkward. Also what was with their aversion to beds?
Overall a fun read and the perfect way to dust off some Spanish and French language skills.
This is a closed door, low spice romance - there is lightly detailed reflection and discussion of moments past.
Thanks Storm Publishing and Kristen Bailey for the ARC ebook via NetGalley.

This one was a bit of a mess, honestly. Way too long for what it was, with a ton of random side info that didn’t really add anything to the story. The bond between the characters felt super forced—but it never really came through in a believable way. Almost was a DNF, and had to skim through pages to get through.

There were a couple laugh-out-loud moments that made me smile, but overall, it just didn’t land. I kept hoping it would pick up or click at some point… but nope. Just kind of missed the mark for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the advanced copy of this book. I had high hopes for this, as I love the author. But other books of hers are just more enjoyable.

Hot to Go is a summer-focused romcom between two teachers set partly in Spain and partly in London.  I have read another work by this author before so I know she's capable of better. The quippy banter between the lead characters can't save this one.

Too many typos for a published book, with strange lapses into second person when a character is thinking rather than speaking. Additional problems include overly familiar discussions between teachers and students about romantic relationships and a misunderstanding of how one should react to the presence of bedbugs. If someone sharing your room announces that they have bedbug bites, the right thing to do is to tell the hotel instead of pulling them into bed to snuggle with you! I feel like this shouldn't need to be said.

I received an advance copy on Netgalley in exchange for this honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this arc. I had a blast reading this book.

Kristen Bailey is a must read author for me. If she writes it, I will read it. Even though I don’t always understand the British slang, I have a hell of a time.

This story introduces us to Suzie and Charlie who are on holiday for different reasons. Suzie to find joy after a terrible break up and Charlie to celebrate his brother’s bachelor party. They meet under extraordinary circumstances while Suzie and her cousins are skinny dipping, have a great shag and due to more unforeseen circumstances leave their holidays without seeing each other or sharing information.

Fast Forward to the new school year and we find our protagonists working together in a new school. They way these two work through their baggage and learn how to find a spark that lasts made me root for this couple till the very end.

I’d recommend this book to someone who likes to travel, who teaches a foreign language, and has a love of stationary.
