This is the first book in the Washington Poe series and I've only seen positive reviews so far. For me, it was just an okay book.
It was such a dark and brutal thriller. The descriptions of the bodies made me sick and I sometimes had to close the book. But it only shows that it was written very well. I loved the relationship between Tilly and Poe. They are complete opposites yet somehow, they worked together so well. They were both very interesting characters. I did not see that plot twist coming either, that took me by surprise.
But somewhere along the way, I kinda lost interest. At some point, the book was so slow for me and I wished for more action. We got some action towards the end of the book but for the most part, it was dragging. This book didn't give me that thrilling feeling I'm always looking for when it comes to thriller books. Overall, it was an okay read but for such an overhyped book, I expected more. Will I continue with this series? Not sure, we'll have to see.

Alustasin Craveni raamatute lugemist valest otsast - keskelt - aga see on ehk ka põhjus, et tahtsin neid edasi lugeda. Pärast kolme raamatut jõudsin esimese osani ja peab tunnistama, et see haaras täielikult endasse. Lõpp oli uskumatult ootamatu ja loomulikult teeb põnevaks veel isiklik jälg, mida Poe taga ajab.
