I LOVED IT. Na začátku jsem byla dost skeptická, ale nakonec mě ta kniha úplně pohltila. Bradshawová mi naprosto přirostla k srdci a Poe byl hrozně zajímavá postava. Je to trochu klišé a vidím v tom vzor klasické detektivky, ale přesně to jsem teď potřebovala.
Totally my type of book, thriller, suspense, twists and turns, a bit gruesome.... What more could you want! I loved it, the cast were described so you can picture their characteristics. The middle left me a little flat for 50 pages or so, but soon picked up again. This could easily be dramatised for TV. Looking forward to the rest of the Washington Poe series.

This was a very compelling murder mystery. It lost stars for one of the main officers being a poorly written autism/neurodivergent stereotype. I was surprised that this book was published in 2018 as it seemed a little outdated in many of the technology references.

Where to begin! This book was absolutely brilliant.
The writing was phenomenal. The twists and intricacies of the plot keep you invested and unable to put the book down.
It covers some dark and disturbing issues flawlessly. You feel sympathy for the psychotic serial killer burning men to death when you fully understand his motivations.
The lead character Washington Poe is as intelligent as he is unmanageable, and his blossoming friendship with the shy, neuro-diverent Tilly Bradshaw is perfection.
I can't recommend this enough and have already started the sequel!

This is one of the best police procedurals I’ve read! The pace is good, I like the characters, and the mystery is fascinating (and grisly—not for sensitive readers)!
