My first Gaiman novel. I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be checking out more of his works.
I enjoyed this read immensely. There was so much more to this book than I was anticipating, and it was enchanting every step of the way.

GOOSEBUMPS!!!! I loved it> this was my first Gaiman, now I want more.
Neil Gaiman continuously proves why he is my favorite author and one of the greatest offers of this generation. This was such a unique little story that was simultaneously quirky and dark. I liked the format of the book as it was more episodic, consisting of several short stories that show character and time progression. As is the case with much of Gaiman's bibliography, the underlying plot that is subtly shown in the background of these stories allows for such complex and layered storytelling to occur. It was more than a story about revenge and death. It is more than a story taking place in a graveyard. It is about life and coming of age. It is about home and about family. It is about companionship and adventure. It is about friendship and love. It is about identity and finding the place you belong.
The characters were fun and eclectic. The visuals were magnificent. Overall, this is a must read for fans of Gaiman, for fans of the horror genre, though admittedly this is horror-lite. This is a great book for younger and older readers alike. Highly recommend.

"Face your life
Its pain, its pleasure,
Leave no path untaken"
This book is innocently beautiful, tackling life experiences mildly that any age would able to relate. The last sentence struck me the most and lead me to a reflection of my own. A gentle read with playful prose, The Graveyard Book have taken its place into my heart.
