I really enjoyed the story within the story but not really the story itself.

Not a fan

This is just like Midsomer Murders in that Anthony Horowitz has a lot of fucked up ideas about gay men.

For having adored the first book so so much, I was so disappointed by this one! It felt like such a long time to actually feel compelled to keep reading. The ending had me so curious, but the amount of time to get there was too much.

I do still enjoy the meta of analyzing a book like Susan does to the Atticus books. It’s very fun to me.

The concept of a book within a book piqued my interest- but I didn’t enjoy either all that much. It was quite a long read for the guilty party to be a fairly obvious choice and there were problematic portrayals of characters as well. But it kept me hooked and reading, so not a total loss!
