Reminiscent of Kristen Hannah’s  “The Women,” this story follows a flight nurse in World War II who falls for an injured soldier but who must choose between her commitment to her country & her family versus her commitment to the soldier.

It jumps between timelines - the soldier, William, in present day & with Kate, the nurse, in the 1940s. The combat portions are well written & captivating & her drive to help is commendable. I liked the jumping between timelines & the ending was predictable but endearing. Overall well written & enjoyable, particularly if you like big hearted, fierce female leads who follow their gut in doing the right thing.

I read this slow because I wanted to cherish it. It was so good. A little mystery, a little romance, women empowerment. It hit all my emotions.
