I love this book...i grew up in AZ, I was fortunate to have many friends and acquaintances who were indigenous to that area who generously shared do much of their beliefs and life views with me. I now live in Oregon and didn't realize how much I have missed that until reading this book. My heart just soaked it all in...thank you for writing this book and sharing it with the world.

This is such a beautiful book and it has given me a greater appreciation for the life around us and a need to make my thumb a whole lot greener.

Each chapter gave me pause to reflect on the world and myself. It was spiritually uplifting.

Dr Robin Wall Kimmerer’s voice and insight on botanical world around us and her bridging the gap between her indigenous roots and scholarly knowledge. A little slow to start. I made bookmarks on chapters “Goldenrod and Asters”, “A Mother’s Work”, and “Honorable Harvesting.” It has changed how I haven’t the wild foods around me and how I can honor the land I use.

I've described this book to friends as, "the way forward." I look at the world as it is, and I see disconnection from other people and the natural world. Nobody's happy with the state of the environment, but I always want to know what I, myself, can do. This book gives the answer.
This book had lots of new information for me.
I'm an amateur gardener, and I learned so much about gardening. I'm determined to have a 3 Sisters Garden next season.
Spiritually, I learned about the honorable harvest and reciprocity.
Everyone should read this. It's a breath of fresh air.

I think understand what Kimmerer hoped to do with this book, and I actually loved a lot of what she had to say. I think the book was rather disjointed though (which may have been a point she was trying to make?) and I was not a fan of it. I would compare this book to a can of soda, it is amazing at the start but you may have a hard time finishing it.

the amount of time it took me to finish this book is not indicative of the content - i really enjoyed reading it. it was very thought provoking and has affected how i view the world around me. i think my favorite chapters were in the “picking sweetgrass” section

There are few books I have read that I wish to internalize. This book will forever be sewn into my bookshelf. What glorious stories and lessons to share with my nieces and godchildren. What a relaxing book to read on a lazy summer day in my hammock. Thank you to this brilliant author for sharing such a marvelous work w the world.

Just finished it. I took it 1 or 2 chapters a day as there is a lot to think about in the pages. But it is good to think and maybe to understand.
