Loved it!!!! Although I think it needed an epilogue to it. I m glad Charlotte stood to Richard and that he is no longer a threat to her. I Loved Gabriel he was great and very protective of Charlotte. :)

DID NOT FINISH: 25%

Writing is all over the place and some things don't make sense. Like how she calls Ernest her boyfriend, but in chapter 10 we find out the FMC is just his only female friend??? And he's asking her for advice for how he could propose to his real gf??? Tf? So lost.

Plus they keep thinking the same things, and I can't get over how she keeps calling him Trex, carnivore, etc. And same where she calls herself mouse (MMC calls her mouse too). It's like they say it on every chapter, and I can't take it anymore. It's so cringe.

I'm a bit disappointed because there were a bunch of reviews loving this, but maybe the writing isn't for me.

I am probably in the minority after reading the reviews on this book but I DNF after about reading 50%. I wanted to love the story. I like romantic stories with a comedy aspect and Office romances with a grumpy sunshine aspect are right up my alley.

I also really like angst and I didn't feel that from either character . I really thought the MC's get together sooner as there was a lot of sexial tension. She thought he was frustrating and arrogant but she was attracted to him. He thought she was mousy, wore clothing too big and baggy for her but he made it clear from the beginning that he was attracted to him.

Fire did not meet flame at least 50 percent through and I didn't feel an emotional connection to either character.

I did think the book was well written and the plot was well developed so I still think 4 stars is appropriate. I thought the banter between Charlotte and Gabriel was cute.

Maybe I'll come back to this story at a later date to see the fire of the sexual tension actually explode.

3.5 stars. This was a very sweet book! The title really has nothing to do with the book, btw, and does not do the story justice. This was a simple, sweet love story between Gabriel and Charlotte. Very low angst and no silly misunderstandings. Just a lovely story of a man who knows who he wants and is determined to get her; and he is patient and gentle enough to help her get over her traumatic past. This was my first book I've read by this author in the CR genre, but it will not be my last!

Another five star prediction that disappointed me. I can see why so many people on reddit were recommending this, but it wasn't my kind of romance.

The banter between Gabriel and Charlotte was cute at times, but the whole T-Rex mouse thing got old real quick. This is one of those books where the characters' size difference gets mentioned every other page.

I think this book is making me realize I'm not a huge office romance girl. Gabriel was such a demanding boss, which to me is not romantic at all.

I feel like the romance focused too much on the spice to the point where there weren't enough sweet moments before the characters.

I do appreciate the story's depiction of dealing with PTSD and recovering from trauma. I feel like these themes were handled with care.
