I wasnt impressed. It feels like the author is making up a ton of stuff on a whim as she goes on. And I don’t particularly like Sophie. The ending raised my rating slightly higher. I might DNF this series. I’ll think about it.

There was a lot of telling versus showing in this book, with less suspense and less impact.  While the previous books in this series felt maybe too speedy - focused on too much back to back action without enough development of character, they still were exciting.  In contrast, this felt more like a slog, and in-between set up book for what I hope will be a better next book.
