Great Trollope as always, i really loved the stroylines with the Carbury's, but I was less entertained by the Melmotte part, I do not think i understood all the technical stuff with shares and all of that. But lovely book, i heard it on audiobook, but i think i would prefer to read it physically.

Still can’t believe I actually managed to finish this one. Bless audiobooks and buddy reading schedules! I really enjoyed this one, and it’s super long so my review might take a bit. But since I’ve only read, what, FOUR books this month, it probably won’t be too difficult.

A long but wonderful book about a trans-Atlantic fraud. It felt strangely timely as a central figure, quite the vainglorious and over-confident scammer, reminded me powerfully of Trump. Every character is vivid and memorable. It’s a slow satisfying read, my favorite Trollope to date.
