********************SPOILERS!************************
The first 2 chapters of this book had me hooked! Joy finds her husband in bed with her sister. Then they are getting married cause she is pregnant. So Joy hops on a plane and it crashes. She walked away from the crashed and never looked back. She meets this man and his son. She starts to get to close to them and then the book flashes and she is back in the hospital. She never left the crash site and have been in a coma since.
After the first 2 chapters I was hooked. Then it changed to a typical love story. I was a little disappointment that it was going that way. Then it changed to it never happened. So she spent the rest of the book getting back to a place that doesn't exist. In the end she finds the man and boy and it is left that they fall in love and she moves on. It was good short read. This could of very well been a longer drawn out book but I also respect the author with not filling it full of fluff. Over all, a good book with a few twists and turns.

I did enjoy this one. Not Kristen Hannah’s best, but it was still fun to read. I was glad it was short.
I enjoyed this book and despite the various plot holes, just allowed myself to enjoy the ride!
Worth Waiting For the Ending.
I am on a Kristin Hannah reading binge, so when this one went on sale, I jumped on it straight away. The previous two that I have read were rich in characters, deep stories that kept me captivated from the first chapter. I’m not going to lie, I did struggle for a few chapters thinking….what is this? And this is where we as readers need to trust the author to deliver. And in my opinion, this author did. Was it as good as her bestseller, no but it is definitely worth the read.
What I think is most important about this book is to give it a chance. Don’t stop reading after fifty pages because it doesn’t make sense, as it won’t until part two. And let’s remember what is written on the cover, it’s a fable and there’s also a little magic as well as faith in relationships. I’m glad I can tick this novel off my list and looking forward to another KH story.

Love Kristin Hannah, her writing g is beautiful although this one was a little far fetched for me. I was getting slightly annoyed at how many times she kept referring to her sister and reconciling. I would recommend her other books, but not this one.
While it does center around winter holidays, I think it can be read any time of year.
This short fable took so many unexpected turns. It starts off as a potential cliche, with the main character being a jilted woman, mad at everyone, on the search for something new.
Then BOOM, plane crash.
From there it's like a Hallmark movie playing out until the next big twist, which I would never have imagined. It caught me completely off guard.
There are elements of magical realism interwoven with the themes of grieving and healing and moving on.
I enjoyed this one. I like the way Kristen Hannah writes, though it was apparent that this is an earlier work of hers.

This is the second time I read this book. I definitely see Kristin Hannah’s brilliance this second time around. I was able to pick out so many clues throughout the book that I missed the first time.
