The twist was predictable but I still loved every second
I love Kristin Hannah and have read several of her books, which is probably why I hated this one so much - it was not at all what I expected from her since her other books are so good!
The story was completely implausible, the characters were frustrating, and it was a sappy book that relied on "magic" to resolve the plot. I would not recommend this book at all.

This was an interesting read. It's only 167 pages so very quick, but the story is very to the point and tosses in a curve I was not expecting at all! I'm still on the fence if I really liked it or not, it was just.....different then what I was expecting to find.
Love Kristin Hannah, but this one missed the mark. It tried to be a magical Christmas story, but the whole time I kept thinking, this just makes no sense. I’d pass on this one.

I really wanted to like this book. The Great Alone was one of my favorite books this year, and I was looking forward to another fantastic Hannah read. However, there is very little to like about Comfort & Joy. The plot...on my. The characters were unoriginal and flat. The "magic" in the story...well, it didn't work for me. I'm not giving up on Hannah yet though. I think I'll try The Nightingale next.
This book could not possibly have been written by Kristin Hannah. The plot was ridiculous. I would have given it 1 star but it was a quick, easy read (I read it in a couple of hours) so it got 2 for that.
I'm not sure if I should give this 2 or 3 stars. It was ok if you don't mind fantasy and really stretching reality. It wasn't particularly well written, in fact, it was hard to believe it was written by Kristin Hannah. I wanted to like it as my first Christmas read, but I couldn't.
