It feels like Hallmark called Kristin Hannah and asked her to create a Christmas story that required her to put aside everything that makes her so special.

I only finished this because I'm a Kristin Hannah fan, but I'm glad I did! 4 stars because the first half of the book feels like painfully poor writing. I know it ends up making sense, but it did make me look to make sure this was THE Kristin Hannah. 5 stars for the concept though!

Also 6/5 stars for a book synopsis that gives NOTHING away. Other authors should take notes!!

I’d definitely say Kristin Hannah is one of my top five fave authors, so when I saw she had a Christmas book, it was a no-brainer.

However, this is not her best

This was not my cup of tea. I read it while delayed at the airport -- it was an easy read, mostly because it lacked a story with any depth. I wanted to like it more than I did. Not one I'd recommend.

Ok, first I was annoyed with Joy, then the script flipped and it warmed my heart. I still have many questions, but overall it was a good book.

WOW! Dit boek had me in tranen, in deel 2...

Hannah works in a huge plot twist that I didn't see coming, so I'm glad I stuck with this book. I love Hannah's writing style and was really in the mood for a cheesy holiday story, so this mostly delivered. Was it a romance? No. Would I recommend it to anyone? Probably not. But I did enjoy it for what it was!

I usually like Kristen Hannah, but I just never warmed up to this story or these characters. It was short, though, so I trudged on. I also agree with everyone else: she shouldn't have forgiven the sister.
