I try to always read a holiday story every Christmas.... this one was fine. Short enough that I knew I didn't have to put it down. A little too many mentions of religion for my liking but Hannah does write a good story.

This book has a very hallmark feel. Unusual for Kristen Hannah as far as I’m aware. But, overall I was engaged in the story and wanted to see where it was going. It had some surprising moments but most of the story was a tad predictable. And… the ending? Ooo was that disappointing. I needed about 5 more chapters to wrap this puppy up appropriately. It felt awkward and rushed. Like “she’s back! Now everything is perfect. Happy ever after. The end.”

Story was so-so. Predictable.

I love this author, but the book was completely ridiculous. Like, it even puts hallmark movies to shame. DNF.

This book is amazing! Not super “Christmasy” but a touching, fast read. Loved it!

3.5. This was so weird, but also sweet. Joy has just found out her sister is engaged to her ex, and pregnant with his child. She immediately decides to skip town and gets into an awful plane crash. Then she ventures to a small town and finds hope in a young child, Bobby, and his father, Daniel, who have just lost their mom/ex wife.

The first half was totally unbelievable and honestly, the second half too, but in a better way. This was sweet and super super quick!
