Comfort & Joy

3.25 AVERAGE

This book seems like it was trying to be a hallmark movie while fundamentally misunderstanding that people overlook the major plot holes, clichés, poor storytelling, and pure ridiculousness because there are enough warm fuzzies to outweigh all of it. This book leaned into all of the tired tropes but did not deliver on the warm fuzzies. 1.5 stars rounded up only because the writing style wasn’t jarringly bad but if it wasn’t for the fact that I was reading this with my book club, I’m not sure I would have been able to finish it.

Uhh hmm… I should really start reading a synopsis or something of books before reading them. Within the first 25 pages, so many inexplicable things happen and I was rolling my eyes pretty hard. I know this is all about ~Christmas Magic~ but all I could think about was how toxic her sister and ex were and how I just didn’t care all that much for the main characters.

Very different! I thought the entire first half I knew she couldn't have walked away from the crash.

Very good, heart warming read with a happy ending. I believe in magic.
