Alrighty so lets start by saying I really realllyyyyy wanted book two to do more for me than book one did. And, ultimately, it did....but not by much. I felt that the FMC was just frustratingly dumb. Like you spent years trying to get to where you are in your career and you decide to throw it all away on him?! Alexie is so manipulating and obsessive to the point it was too much. I get that he is the way he is because of the life he was given but dang enough is enough. If there will be a book three I'm not so sure I'll go out of my way to read it.
Only reason I'm not rating it any lower is the narrators really saved this book. They were fantastic.

Rosalie’s and Alexei’s story is steamy, hot and even has some mystery thriller component to it. From the very beginning when Rosalie meets Alexei, I was enthralled by their game of cat and mouse. Alexei is dark, mysterious and slightly obsessed with his new lawyer; needs to regain control of his crystal empire as well as find out who framed him. Rosalie is a top notch lawyer, this being her first time doing a criminal case she’s determined to set the facts straight and make sure her morally grey, impulsive client does not end up back in prison. As Alexei’s infatuation with Rosalie grows stronger, she can’t help but be drawn to the mafia’s boss’s seductive charms.
I went into this story blind, since I didn’t read the first book, even then their story captured my attention from the very first page. You just couldn’t help but love Alexei, even with all his morally grey decisions. Thank you to Good Girls PR and Rebecca Zanetti for letting me get to know Alexei and Rosalie’s story.

This was a decent romance. It was a slight play on Snow White only with the Russian mob. My favorite characters were the 7 men who were boarding and represented the “dwarves”. They were all old men who were previously in higher positions. The storyline was okay. A lawyer has to represent a Russian mob member and they get romantically involved.
