El libro es precioso... Después de haber visto el la película un par de veces, y ver una versión del musical en vivo, me extrañó no haberlo leído antes.
La prosa es realmente preciosa. Hay tramas menos interesantes (que tampoco se reflejan en los musicales) que hacen la lectura un poco pesada, pero me encantó profundizar más aún en la historia.

honest to god one of my favourite books. my day will be going pretty decent and then i remember a fact from this book and then spend the rest of my day thinking of this book. combeferre gave a speech about how people with families to get back to we're selfish to risk their lives, but his mother was at home waiting for him. jehan prouvaire died alone. javert and eponine parralels. i need victor hugo to raise from his grave so i can talk to him about this book face to face
I bookmarked it, legitmately, over a 100 times. While there are passages that are difficult to get through, hugo's enthusiasm for whatever topic he's delving into, and his sheer delight in explaining it to you, is hard to resist. Not to mention the brilliant insights and turns of phrase that exemplify the smallest moments, which often mean the most.
I now know far too much about the sewer system of Paris, and Victor Hugo loves to say that he only has a few words on a topic and then write 100 pages of detailed descriptions, but in this household we love Jean Valjean so we read all 1400 pages happily
Honestly after finishing this idek remember what I read it js know I liked it :) idek the characters name, I would not be able to tell you anything about this book buttt you should read it
