I really wanted to like this. The plot sounded really interesting. The writing, however, is problematic. The pacing was terrible, and I had a hard time following just what was going on.

This is Poppy and Laird’s story and I love these characters. They fell in love at first sight two years ago. Then an accident happened. Laird thaught she’d changed her mind and dumped him.. Poppy was in a car accident and in a coma for a few months and has amnesia of a period of time before the accident which leaves her with no memory of Laird.
Laird was devastated at her loss and after two years he still has not recovered and is not meeting his bands requirements. His sister sends him to their parents cabin in the woods in an effort for him to reset and make peace with himself to get him back on track with his band duties and responsibilities. She hires a personal chef to cook for him at the cabin.
When arriving at the cabin he finds the personal chef is none other than Poppy. Poppy still doesn’t remember him and it only hurts him further that he didn’t mean enough to her for her to remember. Then after several conversations he finds out she has amnesia. After researching amnesia he’s very careful and tries to not reveal to much about meeting her before. His patience with her is enough to make him a top tier book boyfriend.
Then back in LA his rockstar life past catches up with him.
Now read the book to see if somehow Poppy’s memory will be triggered, if they’ll fall in love all over again or if she will not feel anything for him and no memory return and they’ll have to part with him once again totally lost.
I very highly recommend this book!!

This story introduced me to 𝐒.𝐋. 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭, and after reading this, I can't wait to read more of her work. If you're a fan of second chance romance and the amnesia trope, you’ll definitely enjoy this book.

It started off iffy for me. I'm like, come on, ask some questions! But as things started rolling, I forgot all about it and just sank into this love story. Fate, destiny, whatever you want to call it, this book makes you believe it. I thought I knew how things would hash out, then there was a twist I didn't see coming, and I loved the unexpected. Parts are sappy and too good to be true, but it just makes you happy to read it anyway. Laird is too good to be true, but clearly flawed in just the right ways.

I really enjoyed the amnesia part of the storyline, but was a little confused why her best friend seemed to have no knowledge of the weekend that she "lost" from her memories.

I really enjoyed Laird & Poppy’s story! While this is a rockstar romance, the focus is less on that aspect as they spend much of the story in a snowed-in cabin together. I love the theme of how they found each other again and fell in love, even though Poppy didn’t remember their first meeting.
I didn’t like that Laird kept information from Poppy regarding their previous relationship. I would have been a lot more upset than Poppy was if that happened to me!
This is my first book by S.L. Scott, but I’ll definitely be returning to the Wescott family world.
