I really really wanted to enjoy this book and I will admit it had it's moments. However, I just felt like it took me way to long to get through it. It seemed ridiculously long at times. I also struggled a bit with the actual character romance. It all felt very rushed to me. I will say that it had some nice banter, but some moments just felt kind of cringe to me. The Poppy family storyline is a side story that you don't really need, that somehow impacts so much, even though it's hardly brought up. The last couple of chapters felt very rushed and even a bit confusing at times. I just was hoping for a slightly more emotional read I think. Overall, it's a cute romance though.

“I will choose you every time. In every lifetime. Our past, present, and future. I will never discount the power of destiny again.”

“Never Have I Ever” by S.L. Scott is a second chance, enemies-to-lovers standalone with a broody rock star, a mystery from the past, and the kind of chemistry that refuses to stay buried. It’s packed with tropes you’ll love—grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, and a forgotten romance that refuses to be forgotten.

Poppy and Laird shared one unforgettable weekend that ended with big promises—and an even bigger heartbreak. When she didn’t show the next morning, Laird was crushed and convinced it all meant nothing to her. What he didn’t know? Poppy had been in a serious accident and lost every memory of their time together.

Two years later, they’re unexpectedly reunited when Poppy is hired as his private chef. She has no idea why he’s so cold to her, and he has no clue she doesn't remember a thing. But as they clash, connect, and piece things together, it’s clear their story isn’t over.

I loved how this story mixed tension, heart, and just the right amount of heat. Poppy is the kind of character you instantly want to be friends with—fun, fierce, and full of heart. And Laird? He’s all broody rock star with a soft side he’s trying way too hard to hide. Watching these two circle each other, trade barbs, and slowly unravel their truth and feelings was pure entertainment. If you're into second chances with a little chaos and a lot of heart, this one brings it.

Thank you @s.l.scott and @hambright_pr for the gifted ebook arc.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Beautifully orchestrated! The notes, high and low, are delivered in perfect harmony. The sweet romance is soft and delicate and the spice crescendos. Poppy met the love of her life but trauma erases him from her memory. From the loss of her, he goes off the rails. Fate intervenes and he is given the opportunity to get her to fall in love with him all over again as he falls deeper for the woman she has become. Emotionally charged, the romance, angst, witty banter and complexities of relationships with family and friends is written with a graceful touch.

Laird and Poppy were soulmates destined to be together. Their story was a journey from instalove to enemies to friends to lovers and the beauty of a love that was inevitable.

These two had an incredible night together, fell in love, and were ready to spend their lives together until an accident changed everything. Now Laird is left wondering, and his life spirals. Now, two years later, his only option is to take a week to get himself together, and now his life will change once again unexpectedly. Poppy's life changed drastically the day after her incredible night with Laird Faris, guitarist of Faris Wheel, but she doesn't remember that night, and years later, they cross paths again.

🎸🔥 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗜 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗯𝘆 𝗦.𝗟. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 is a captivating, steamy romance that blends rockstar drama with mystery and an undeniable connection between two fated souls. When Poppy meets her new boss—brooding rockstar Laird Faris—she’s instantly drawn to him, despite the amnesia clouding her past. Never Have I Ever, made me feel a roller coaster of emotions. I felt the highest of highs to the lowest of lows only to be brought right back to the top. Laird (MMC)  was a rock god and when his eyes meet Poppy’s(MFC) during a show it was kismet. The connection was immediate and they fell head over heels for each other, even got a matching tattoo. The way these two came together only to be torn apart broke my heart for both of them. When fate brought them back together a couple years later Laird was not ready to learn why Poppy “acted” like she didn’t know him. I cried listening to Poppy piece things together as Laird watched patiently trying not to interfere. I loved everything about Never Have I Ever,  S. L. Scott has written another banger of a book.
Summer Morton and Jacob Morgan did an amazing job bringing the book to life. Jacob has a lot of nerve sounding so scrumptious!

📍 “She can’t remember. I can’t forget.”

📍 “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you. You can have all of me, Poppy. Take it because I’m no good without you.”

Things I loved:
💙amnesia - I looooved the amnesia angle, it’s one of my favorite tropes. It’s like a slow burn all over again but with the extra angst as he wishes for her to remember them 👏🏼
💙Poppy - she was such a perfect FMC even if not the brightest as she never fully questioned why he would say the things he did

Things I didn’t love:
💙the insta love done twice - the second time around needed some build up on the trust part, on the “I won’t until she remembers”
💙the other woman drama - it was too immediate for him then and too late for the whole thing now. It just didn’t fit my emotions, the story and honestly… it was pointless.

But all in all, it ended up being quite an entertaining read 👏🏼👏🏼

Thank you so much @hambright_pr and the author for this copy.

If I had to describe this book with one word, it would be love. With two words: pure love.

This man loves like no one else. He says to her face, "I want you. I love you." But if you think it's that simple, well, you're mistaken. They worked so hard to finally get their happy ending. I can proudly say I'm officially a Laird fangirl, but if I am being honest, I am equally a Poppy fan. The amnesia trope is a really tricky one, but it was so well written in this book. Yes, sometimes you want to throw the book to the other side of the room, but I like it when a story makes me feel this deeply.

And the joy I felt was probably the same as what Laird felt when Poppy remembered even just little crumbs from their past. It was really priceless.
I literally stopped breathing when something not so good happened closer to the end. I was like, "Noooo, no way, please don't!" But that scene is so important, so meaningful, like a full circle. I'd say it's more of a character-heavy book. The story is great, maybe not mind-blowing in terms of plot, but the emotional part is the total winner. Really, when I think about this book, I feel love. So, it has definitely become a comfort read for me. 100% recommend.

I had only one problem with this book: now I have to read the other books. I'm so glad they're already out! I loved the side characters so much, so now it's time to see them shine in the main character role.

What an emotional rollercoaster. I think I’m beginning to love rockstar romances. I haven’t read too many but I’m such a fan.

Laird and Poppy have a whirlwind night of romance. It was an instant obsession that had them making plans that others would find absolutely crazy after only knowing each other one night.

This story takes a fast turn and you see how each have been dealing with life since that day. We get to see how they are now and if they spark is still there.

I was so invested in their tragic stories. The fact that Laird was a MESS for two years with all questions and no answers broke my heart…but the way he adjusts so dang quick when he gets a second chance makes me melt.

I’m not a fan of instalove, but the way this was written was beautiful and captivating. I enjoyed the love story and the rollercoaster of emotions they went through from start to finish.

Also…I HATE her mother 😂 I had to say it. What a terrible and spiteful lady. Glad Poppy finally grew a backbone.

If you love a sweet instalove romance with a rockstar and a chef, love some spice, and a lot of emotions, give this book a try!

If you're a sucker for a rockstar romance with a second chance twist, Never Have I Ever by S.L. Scott is the book for you! The chemistry between Poppy and Laird is fire, and their journey together is full of twists, turns, and those heart-melting moments that make you believe in soulmates.

Poppy's amnesia leaves her in a whirlwind with Laird, who’s not only brooding and devastatingly handsome, but has a mysterious past that keeps you hooked. Their connection is undeniable, but with secrets and spicy tension between them, can they overcome their struggles and find their happily ever after? You'll be rooting for them the whole time.

I was given an ARC of this book but something told me I should check out the audio and I am so glad I did (it was less than $3!!), and I totally recommend it if you’re into audiobooks as much as I am!

The narration by Jacob Morgan and Summer Morton brought this story to life in a way that made me not want to stop listening! Jacob’s portrayal of Laird is everything I imagined, and Summer nails Poppy’s vulnerability perfectly.

This is the first book I’ve read by S.L. Scott, but it won’t be the last. The way she crafts complex characters and intertwines their emotions had me so invested that I couldn’t stop reading (or listening)!
