A Rockstar second chance romance , that do not focus on the actual Rockstar trope????Yes ma'am count me in! And though it deals with Amnesia, one of the tropes I really don't like bc of idiotic misunderstandings, that usualsteal the opportunity of a book to be an absolute good read, this one completely suprised me bc it was so much diffrend and so much more than I expected....
We get to know Poppy and Laird as individuals and how they are together, considering the forced proximity they found themselves in! We can see and follow their relationship through this long period of time, we see them going from "strangers" -bc of the Amnesia thingy- to enemies, to friends to lovers and it's majestic! It's so pure and so authentic and realistic and genuine and true!We could grasp that "second chance" feeling bc of their past too....And bc of all these we could see and feel their chemistry bursting and overtaking the whole story completely, loud and clear , no tricks needed.

This story is packed with various emotions coming from all the sweet, adorable, heartwarming and cute and loving moments between the mcs , as from all the pain, heartache and sadness coming from all the situations they found themselves in and had to overcome...And all hit you hard!

The only downside of the story , for me, was that it was sooooooo slow burn that felt like the pase had stopped somewhere in the story! It was completely still, like drugging with the purpose to just make the story longer , which was unnecessary! But overall, the book was a delightfully read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Poppy and Laird get a second chance at a happily ever after, when they were thrust together as if by fate. Then after an unfortunately accident and Poppy ending up with amnesia, Poppy and Laird meet once again and he has to make her fall in love with him all over again.
Great plot line; great romance. Recommend this read if you like this trope! Rockstar; personal chef; Anne’s is, second chance

I read this book in one day because I simply could not put it down. I gasped during the first few chapters and then I cackled as they battled each other for who could have the last word but then as they both began sharing parts of themselves that had long been closed, I swooned. This was not a traditional rockstar romance and I loved that. You can tell care was taken with how Poppy's story was handled and how Laird was so devoted to making sure he didn't do anything to make her memories harder to remember. This entire series of books is wonderful but this might be my absolute favorite

Poppy and Laird fell in love the moment they laid eyes on each other which led to a whirlwind weekend romance. Their story is the definition of instalove, but it was not inherently terrible. Poppy ends up getting into an accident which causes a bout of amnesia. It was a little too convenient that she only lost the memories of her time with Laird. I think it would have been better had she lost the past week or month of her memories, not just that specific weekend.

The angst when Poppy and Laird reunited was my favorite thing. Unaware of her condition, Laird was so offended and hurt that Poppy acted as if she did not know him when he had been completely heartbroken since she stood him up. The longing and pain from Laird's side was palpable, and poor Poppy had no idea why this stranger was so upset with her. I was pleased with Laird's turnaround, though, when he did find out what happened. He was so eager to make Poppy fall in love with him again, and it seems like mother nature was on his side.

The drama that popped up towards the end was a little annoying. It made me queasy reading about Laird's night in Nashville and I really wish this one issue would not have popped up. Thankfully, nothing came of it, because I really would have dipped out had it been confirmed yes.

The story did have a lot of fluff, though, that I feel could have been cut out. It seemed like there were constant declarations of love and other things that were overkill. I found myself skimming towards the end because I just wanted the story to continue. Again, it was not terrible, but definitely could have used some edits.
