This book was not for me. What stared as a promising plot turned into a hot mess. It wasn't just the writing but the fact that it was predicable, so unbelievable and I didn't find one character with one redeeming quality. Also, I had the who figured out almost immediately and the what was not a big reveal in the least.

What tension there is completely fizzles out towards the end and when this reader was hoping for a plot twist that never came, I'd lost interest well before then anyway but was determined to finish the book. The saddest thing is that there's so much potential in the idea and the book does start out quite promising but ends up falling flat on its arse. Pretty disappointing.

It was difficult for me to keep the characters straight. So many of them were very similar. I normally don't have this problem! This is my second book by the author and not my favorite so far.

It is an enjoyable quick read, just had some trouble keeping characters straight.

3.5. I wanted it to end differently (epilogue), and I hated the villain, so well done, author.

A bit predictable but also page turning

You get to see 10 years ago with Emma (who may have died or disappeared) and then the here and now with Haley. Sisters separated by death or disappearance depending on who you talk to. The police 10 years ago seemed to have no clue what happened and didn't really investigate into it. Then all of a sudden, a bracelet is found and they are all over trying to investigate it now.

I didn't see why Haley was with Dean. They just didn't feel connected to each other. I'm a little confused at their ending at the end of the book.

I could tell from early on whodunnit so I wasn't surprised when it was revealed.

An interesting mystery involving the disappearance of a young girl. This was a slow burn, with a very slow unraveling of the story. The mix of past and present allowed the story to unfold in an interesting way. Unfortunately, the outcome is pretty obvious from early on in the book so I wasn’t blown away by the conclusion.

I would describe this book as chaotic. So many twists and turns that it wasn't really enjoyable but also even with all the suspects it was somewhat predictable. I do like books that go from present to past and back again but this one just was a little nuts. At least it was a fast read?
