Despite reviews that indicated this one had no actual twists or surprises, there were a few epilogue reveals (low-stakes, for the most part) that I hadn't anticipated. While the "who" in the whodunnit was easily guessed, getting to the why was at least somewhat satisfying.
Fast, easy read. Most of it predictable, except the twist at the end got me. I enjoyed it.
Quick read, writing style not totally my jam.
Emma disappeared 10 years ago. Her sister, Haley, moves back to Waverly to buy a house with her new fiance. Waverly is both the sisters' hometown and the place where Emma was last seen at a college party in the woods. Haley is determined to figure out what happened to her sister. There are lots of suspects -- Emma's college professors, best friends, and everybody who was at that party -- but the police are stumped. Until a new piece of evidence -- Emma's bracelet -- is found in a ravine near the river, cracking the case open.

This was a perfectly fine read - nothing all that memorable but nothing all that offensive in it. It was fairly obvious who the perpetrator was, but even though I called it, I still second guessed myself a few times. I read this one fairly quickly and it kept me company on a night I just couldn't sleep.
It's like a kindergarten kid wrote this, and her brother in 3rd grade edited it. The premise was intriguing, but the delivery was painful. Here's a shocking revelation... Emma (said missing girl) drank in college and slept with some guys. I mean can you even imagine? Such scandal that no one has ever heard of before. The author made sure to shame her character time and again for her actions. I mean she basically deserved it, right? Give me a break. This was a really stupid book, and if I thought it couldn't get worse, the last line of the book proved me wrong. I can't believe her editor even let her get away with that foolishness. 1-star, which is very generous.
Lots of twists
I received this book from Amazon First Reads. At first it didn't catch me and I thought meh but then I was quickly hooked and finished the book in 1 day. It was an enjoyable read with lots of twists and red herrings. I'd be interested to read more from the author.

A big thanks to #thesixspotlight and @amazonpublishing for my giveaway copy of Open House.
I read Sise’s adult debut, We Were Mothers in my early bookstagram days and am looking forward to another great discussion with some bookstagram buddies. Like her debut this was an easy and enjoyable read. I found myself reminiscing about my college days (thankfully mine didn’t involve a missing friend but may have included some boy drama). While I did find the story a bit predictable I still enjoyed the journey and even a small surprising twist.

Hmm
It was an interesting read. It was a new to me author in a not my typical genre. It was ok to me.

Started off really promising with Haley’s being the main POV & looping in Emma’s with the dual timeline. I enjoyed the premise and the building of the plot and character involvement, but ultimately everything came together too quickly for my taste. I felt if the last chapter and epilogue would have been omitted, the ending would have been much stronger!
