A big thanks to #thesixspotlight and @amazonpublishing for my giveaway copy of Open House.
I read Sise’s adult debut, We Were Mothers in my early bookstagram days and am looking forward to another great discussion with some bookstagram buddies. Like her debut this was an easy and enjoyable read. I found myself reminiscing about my college days (thankfully mine didn’t involve a missing friend but may have included some boy drama). While I did find the story a bit predictable I still enjoyed the journey and even a small surprising twist.

This book was very bland and it didn't really get that interesting until the end. It's not a long book but it dragged so much. Probably because of the narrator Haley who was so robotic and boring. I wasn't fond of any of the characters especially the female characters. Priya was beyong annoying and Emma was oblivious and stupid. It wasn't that much suspense since it was obvious what happened a few pages into the first Emma chapter. There was an interesting twist towards the very end of the book though.

Enjoyable read with a good amount of suspense. Although the main character drew my intrigue I cannot say I couldn’t put this book down. The ending left me not unsatisfied but I didn’t feel the relief and closure I’d normally get from crime novels like these. A good read, but it wouldn’t be my recommendation. Good effort on the part of the writer, I am curious to see what she could do within a less predictable context.
A disappointment. The story was boring for me.
The book kept switching point of view every chapter and it was annoying. I wish it stayed on a person a bit longer because some chapters were only about 2 pages long.
The reveal wasn't super shocking either. Sad but we move on.

Okay but it took a long time to come together
The title of the book bothers me because there’s one incident that takes place in an open house. The plot was fairly predictable but the main character was good. The end felt rushed.

This books was not as good as the author’s previous book We Were Mothers. I was expecting a story of that magnitude, but instead I was left with several undeveloped characters and an anticlimactic finish.
Entertaining thriller, but the ending came together too easily and too quickly to be anything more than 3 stars
