Really interesting magic system and I love a badass fmc. This just missed the mark for me, personally.

Alexa is a bit too thirsty for the guys who are all assholes to her in some way, and never really redeem themselves.

The 'twist' was obvious as soon as the betrayer was introduced. I found myself incredibly frustrated with the fmc. She went from badass assassin to too stupid to live in such a short amount of time.

These are short books (around 200 pages each), and I read through them fast enough that I honestly am not sure where one book ends and the next starts, so I am writing the review for the trilogy on the last book, with spoiler tags.

I devoured this book and can't wait to dive into the next one!

An Assassin's Death is filled with my favorite thing: assassin's. However, it also has some smut and sexual tension. So in other words, I devoured this book.

In this you will meet Alexa and some hot ass guys. She's on a mission to kill someone but gets a little star struck when she realizes that he's an assassin as well. Then she later finds out that all of her targets are actually assassins from the same league. Well, they aren't in it anymore but she is trying to figure out why she needs to kill them. Apparently it's frowned upon to kill another assassin.

Later on she finds out that her boss wants them dead for personal reasons. But that's not all folks! Nope, he wants her killed after she does the dead. Now I don't know about you.. but that would definitely make me not want to do the job.

Now this book has smut, teasing, and so much betrayal. It also has some cool has magical powers in it as well. The twist and turns were so good. I love the guys and obviously have a favorite already... but I wont tell you who. Then there's the damn ending that has got me hooked. Which is why I already have the second book and can't wait to dive into it!

Overall, I loved this book and need to read the next one now!

Dnf @ 64%.

I just give in with this.

I can't even tell you what it is, it just sort of bored me. Started off peeking my interest, waned and when I had to put this down I was forcing myself to pick it up again. Decided after months I'll just give up with it. Its obviously not for me.

This book was totally not what I was expecting... and I mean that in the best possible way! I loved An Assassin's Death and cannot wait to read more!

This story introduces us to Alexa Hart, an assassin with the ability to make time stop. She is assigned to kill four men, but when she sets out to do just that she finds the symbols identifying them as assassins too. Her marks soon turn into her teammates, and together they plan to take down a corrupt higher up who is planning something dangerous that will change everything.

Alexa was such a great character. Strong, sassy, and determined to prove herself. The guys were fun and not always what I expected them to be. This was a bit more of a slow-burn rh with a few steamy scenes but for the most part Alexa and the guys take it a little slower.

The end of this book throws us a few twists. I'm really excited to read the next book in the series and learn more about this Derek character and his plans!

*buddy read*

There was a lot left to be desired plot-wise. The protagonist was shown off as one of the best assassins but was weak against almost everyone she fought against.
