I don't know if this deserves the tiktok hype, but it's not entirely terrible. It's not a literary masterpiece, but it's enjoyable for most romance audiences.

That said, I don't like the "we shouldn't be together because you're my best friends' [little] sibling" trope. It's one of the most insufferable tropes to me, so that is part of why my rating is so low. Also, Alex and Ada both were... yeah. Not my favorite pairing.

The rest is fine. The writing style is fine, and most of the characters are likable, aside from Alex and his plot amor + too OP, and I'm glad the book didn't run on for over 500+ pages as romance books shouldn't be any longer than 350 MAX. I have higher hopes for the rest since they all contain different tropes. Maybe I will find one I like most.

All I can say is that this book was an emotional rollercoaster. It was all the drama of a romance novel, but it was accompanied by an insane plot. I need an Alex rn and cannot wait for the rest of the series.

overall this book was good! it kept me hooked, and the grumpy guy falling for the sunshine girl was so good! i also liked the fuel perspective’s, although i wish it could have had a more even split especially in the middle, as we mainly only saw ava. idk how to feel about the whole family murders on both sides. both conflicts with the two families were intresting, but idk if both were like needed if that he makes sense, especially ava randomly getting memories and suddenly remembering her the lake scene out of nowhere. also sometimes alex was a little too controlling. not letting her date anyone else after he did her so bogus, and literally STALKING her?? hello?? the whole “ your mine” thing can be cute at sometimes, but he used it so much i think he litterally thought she was a possession.

I was absolutely captivated and read the book in one sitting. Yet I have to say I didn’t really like the way things moved towards the ending.
It wasn’t extraordinarily good but I had a great time reading it and couldn’t put it down so without rating it objectively I can say in my opinion it’s a good book with lots of ups and downs so you definitely won’t get bored
