Not my favourite. Just didn’t enjoy the whole Ian thing.
Calm
I don’t know what magic Big-Boned Bertha holds but it is real and may it never change. I think I may say this every time but I am utterly, completely in love. Rush and Hunter are the best and I c’ANT get over how much I love these two!
“I have a person.
A person who’s all mine.
Who doesn’t play games and make me second-guess. I never knew how much I needed Hunter, but I do now.
And if he maybe loves me too, I’m not ever letting him go.”
Swoons all around, feels galore, and so many adorable, chuckle-y (it’s a word to me) puns, that Hunter and Rush have a gigANTic hold on my heart. This was the trope I didn’t realize I needed more of until these two swooped in with their unforgettable ANTics, their smoldering chemistry and cuddles, their honest conversations and forever sparkled their way into my soul. Rush is so very special and my heart sighed with how Hunter saw him and loved him for all of who he is. I will never give these two up as they are 1000% brilliANT!!

So cute and sweet but I kinda wish the pining/angst lasted a bit longer. Also I wanted more information on their job status after Ted found out?

Gah… loved these guys! Despite how heartbreaking the beginning was, the rest is so endearing and sweet it was perfect. Also the adhd rep was top-notch; while I don’t align on everything Rush deals with, so many traits were familiar.
I unfortunately listened to this book first, but I’m excited to go back and check out the rest of the series and the other Bertha boys I met.

3.8 ⭐️ LISTEN TO ME !! one, i have a different rating scale for these type of books anyways but also ignore the cover, this book isn’t bad omg. it had the humor (outside of the ant puns) it had the chemistry and banter (which distracts you from the corny ass sex scenes) and even though the names weird ridiculous i loved the main character idc if it was peak literature I HAD FUN READING IT

I love all the Bertha Boys, but I've been anxiously awaiting Rush's book, and it didn't disappoint. Not to oversell it, but this one just might be my favorite Saxon James book.
If you've read the other books in this series, you know Rush is scatterbrained and almost seems checked out at times. In this one though, we get a much better understanding of what's actually going on in his brain. Rush has ADHD and it's so well depicted. I've read ADHD characters before, but never one that I felt was written as real as Rush is. I felt like I could genuinely understand him and his struggles and thought processes. Rush's struggles here may be more severe than most, but they way they were depicted still felt very true to my friends' experiences with unmedicated ADHD (and even occasionally my own experiences where my anxiety tries to act like ADHD).
In the last book, the reader kind of gets the idea that Rush's boyfriend might not be on the up and up. Unfortunately for Rush, that's confirmed when he plans a NSFW surprise for his boyfriend, and ends up surprising his boyfriend's fiancé (and the fiancé's family). Things go from bad to worse for Rush when it turns out the now ex-boyfriend's now ex-fiancé is his new boss.
Despite that disastrous first meeting and some early hiccups, Rush and Hunter join forces to get revenge on their cheating ex - but end up falling for each other instead. A lot of their early interaction is via email/text, which is my personal catnip. Rush mostly speaks as he thinks so his emails are kind of a stream of consciousness dump, which is quite entertaining and endearing. I just wanted to give the poor, misunderstood guy a hug.
Hunter is basically Rush's opposite (organized, put together, methodical) but he's a genuinely good guy who really tries to understand Rush and find ways to work with his neurodivergence in the professional setting (well before there's anything more between them). Heck, he's even a decent enough guy to give Rush his coat and arrange a ride after meeting his fiancé's near naked side-piece.
This whole book is sweet, swoony, and laugh out loud hilarious (with a healthy dose of spice thrown in). It's legitimately been a while since I can remember openly laughing so much while reading a book. This book REALLY made me appreciate Madden in a way I hadn't previously, so I'm extra excited now for his book.
This is a standalone, but to really appreciate the friend group/found family aspect of the Bertha Boys, I recommend reading the first two books (plus they're entertaining in their own right).

okay
This just felt so slow and seemed to drag on from the beginning until they kiss and then bam! Their relationship goes from nothing to everything in such a short time. It didn’t feel believable.
The way they got back at Ian also didn’t feel believable nor did the way Rush shows up and immediately Hunter knows Ian cheated. Literally almost everything he said was believable.
Also, I have NO idea how Rush wasn’t fired. It was so laughable to just not show up for days upon days and still have a job that it yanked me right out of the story.

Rush and Hunter meet under unfortunate circumstances. It’s Rush and Ian’s 1 year anniversary so he goes to his place, puts on a smexy costume and knocks on the door - only to find that Ian has his fiancé and their family over and he is there on the wrong day.. then it turns out that Hunter is is new supervisor.
Hunter wants to quit and move home, but doesn’t want to give up either, but he hates Rush and what he did. Only to find that Rush didn’t know about him, and the more they talk the more intrigued Hunter is. They decide to take some revenge by pretending they are together and sending a video to Ian (which they never send).
Really love this series, it’s so gorgeous and the Bertha boys are adorable. This story has so many big feels, delish spice and great characters!

The Revenge Agenda is the third book in Saxon James's Accidental Love series. It's a MM romance with a rather unconventional meet-cute/ugly for the main characters. You could read this book as a standalone, but it's way more fun to read the rest of the series in order. This book is told from a first person dual point of view and contains a guaranteed happily ever after. You can expect neurodivergent representation, cheating (not between the main characters), a workplace romance, and sweet revenge. Please review the content warnings and always take care of yourself while reading.
Synopsis: What should've been a surprise for him and his boyfriend's one-year anniversary turns into the worst night of Rush's life filled with embarrassment and heartbreak. He never expected his boyfriend to be hosting his fiancé's family. Hunter gave up his life in Portland to move to Seattle and be with his fiancé, only to learn he has a guy on the side. So the last person Hunter expects when he walks into his new job is Rush (hiding under a desk). They'll have to find a way to coexist in this strange new reality. And maybe, just maybe, some sweet revenge can bring them closer together than they ever could've imagined.
I've been patiently awaiting Rush's story ever since we met him in [b:Not Dating Material|83161072|Not Dating Material (Accidental Love, #2)|Saxon James|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1690973676l/83161072._SY75_.jpg|107799083]. Unfortunately, Seven had a gut-feeling about Rush's boyfriend that turned out to be right. I absolutely adored Rush's character. I appreciated the honest way Saxon James went about writing Rush, and her author's note before the beginning of the story coupled with the use of sensitivity readers, research, and personal experience really made Rush a dynamic character. His decision about using medication for his ADHD diagnosis was deeply personal, and I think it's representation we don't often get to see in books.
I will be perfectly candid, I hated Hunter at first. With a passion. Even though he did make sure Rush got home safe after their disastrous first meeting, I had already decided I would protect Rush at all costs and I didn't like the way Hunter spoke to him. Never fear, Hunter more than redeemed himself by the end of the book (and thank goodness for bosses like Ted, the unsung hero of The Revenge Agenda). I loved the revenge plotline coupled with their emails. And I enjoyed watching Rush tell Hunter exactly what he needed and setting guidelines and boundaries in their relationship - I think this is something more people could do better in their own lives.
Some additional elements in this story that made me super happy were the Xander cameos - seriously, I think an entire fanbase is eagerly anticipating his story. He's too funny and so loyal! And Seven's friendship with Hunter was completely unexpected but actually perfect. This book was a really fun read, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series coming our way later in 2024!

“I lost track of the time and heard you down here. I’m told it’s polite to make introductions, but given you’re already inside, I take it you’ve at least met someone. Unless you let yourself in, which is kind of rude, but okay with me.”
“I met Xander.”
“Oh no. Did he try to have sex with you?”

“I told you I won’t fuck you for revenge. The day you take my cock is the day you forget his name. When we fuck, Rush, the only name you’ll remember is mine. Because you’ll be screaming it.”
