I enjoyed this book immensely. An amazing family and interesting insights into an era that has truly ended. Some aspects of these peoples lives seem such a waste, so cosseted and in many cases so lacking in skill and talent. Yet with Milford’s story telling skills you feel for them and their lives.

Well written and a gem of understanding some historical aspects of class and the decline of the uppercrust in England.

Recommended.
