First of all, I’d like to thank NetGalley, Nina Kenwood and Text Publishing for making this book available to read on NetGalley. I’m a lover of free books and I cannot lie. Hehe.

This book is amazing. Natalie completely represents me and a thousand girls out there who struggles with our body appearance daily. I relate to her so much as if I am her. I know how it felt to be mocked for hormonal acnes, judged for body sizes. People always point that out the first thing when they meet me sometimes. It’s amazing how this book covers issues such as that.

Life after high school is a very terrifying period of time. And drama in between was really expected. This book–to me–feels like a fanfiction because it is such a light read. But minus the fan of course.

I know how Natalie and Alex basically have seen each other so much since before the book even started but I feel like their relationship escalated so quickly that maybe more scenes with them would be better. But then again, it discovers first love, emotions and experiences so I think that’s really cool.

Overall, such a great story! Would definitely recommend to contemporary lovers as I am and perhaps readers of The Kissing Booth. You’ll love it!

I have never related to a character more than I have to Natalie. She may seem annoying to other people but I understand her because she is me

Did I start and finish this book this evening? Why yes I did. Did I love it? Yes I absolutely did.

It Sounded Better In My Head by Nina Kenwood is such a well-written YA with really relatable, well-drawn characters. This book was genuinely funny and some parts were so cringey (in a very relatable way) that it made my teenage self feel so seen, and as a result, I had so much compassion for not only the younger me, but the MCs.

I liked that this book depicted life and relationships (of all kinds) as messy and not perfect, but there was a good amount of growth in the characters for me. I read this in a day, and I honestly didn't want it to end. I am slightly mad things weren't all tied up or resolved completely at the end. But at the same time, it feels real because this book is just a pit stop in their lives, on the precipice of new beginnings and a new stage of life. So I get it. Mostly, I'm just mad I didn't get to keep reading because I would love to follow along on that next stage as well. (hint: please write a sequel).

As soon as I finished, I started her second book Unnecessary Drama and somehow, loved it even more. I will gladly now read anything and everything Nina Kenwood writes and I hope in the future she also writes an adult fiction. Highly recommend.

It was a nice listen in the car! It felt like listening to myself as an 18 year old, if I were Australian.
It was interesting how much I related to the  main character and was also so frustrated with her.
